STRATHMORE, AB: Today the Freedom Conservative Party of Alberta (FCP) announced that it will found its first local constituency association in the new riding of Chestermere-Strathmore. The local AGM will be held at 6:30 pmSeptember 5th at Camp Chestermere where it will elect a Board of Directors, discuss how to build a winning local team in the next election, and hear from FCP Interim-Leader and MLA for Strathmore-Brooks Derek Fildebrandt.

Ronda Klemmensen is organizing the local FCP constituency association and previously served as the president of both the Wildrose Party and UCP for Strathmore-Brooks.

“Conservative Albertans deserve a real, grassroots party with grassroots candidates not forced on them by backroom-party operatives in Edmonton,” said Klemmensen. “We are building our party locally here from the ground up with the grassroots members in charge, so we want to invite everyone in our constituency who is interested to come out, have a coffee, and here more about what we stand for, party member or not.”

“The Tories are simply the same old-boys club that we threw out in the last election, and so on the Strathmore-side, the vast majority of our Wildrose volunteers and even some PCs have decided to join the FCP are working to build the party in the newly-redrawn constituency,” concluded Klemmensen.

Constituents wishing to stand for election to the local FCP Board should contact the party in advance at or by telephone at 403-774-7393.
